This plant I found in a horticultural garden in a park in Pickering, Ontario, Canada. It was around 3′ high. Not shown in the photo are fat (a few inches wide), lobed green leaves not more than about 1-2′ off the ground.
I would love to know what plant this is because many pollinators were highly attracted to it and I’m interested to plant it in my garden to support pollinators.
I tried writing the owner of the garden but there was no response.
My best guess is a globe thistle.
